This is my first time blogging, so bear with me as I get things ready in the next couple of months. I have to get used to everything, haha.
Well anyway, a little about myself! I am Ms. Living on Cents! I am a 26 year old woman who lives on SSI (Social Security Insurance), but loves personal finance! Surely you think, “Well, if she is on SSI, how can she be passionate about money?” Well, my friends, one does not always have to be well off to know a little about money! I am also into frugality by default! Yes, if I was making more money, my mindset would not change either. Frugality is not living poorly, but trying to find ways of not spending money and getting a great deal if you do spend money! It’s not about poverty at all. Anyone can be frugal and on my blog, I will show you so many ways that I save money by being frugal! I just love frugality and hope to inspire all of you to live a frugal lifestyle as well!
I am also a minimalist, so besides food and a few bits and bobs here and there, I don’t spend much money on things. Keeping up with the Joneses is never a good idea because they are broke anyway. Those fancy things the Joneses have? Well, the honest truth is that they are paid for on credit. I’m sure there are some very well off people who actually live fanciful lifestyles because they have wads of cash, but they are few and far in between. Being a minimalist has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me because I don’t crave stuff. Even my thrift store treasure hunting have been a little sparse these days because I just can’t find anything that I could possibly need at the moment! I’m not about luxury, y’all. I’m about living the good life by spending as little money as possible.
As for my other hobbies, I enjoy watching anime (Japanese cartoons) and reading manga (Japanese comics). Since I do not watch much TV or hardly any at all, anime and manga keeps me entertained quite a bit. Plus, it’s all fun to consume. Fans or anime and manga, you know what I mean! I also like to write and draw sometimes! I am currently working on a book that I hope to get published someday and as soon as it is completed, I will definitely tell everybody! It’s one of my passions in life and a life goal for me to be a published author. And if I happen to strike it rich on my book (highly doubt it), I will be sure to tell everybody as well! As for my drawings go, I don’t do it very much anymore… It’s not that I hate drawing, it’s just because I have not been inspired too much by anything to draw. I guess my other passions keep me busy enough so I don’t have to fill my days with drawing. I know it’s sad to leave a hobby behind, but I can always pick up a pencil again and draw anytime I wish to. The skill never fades.
So, I think that is about it! I’m going to wrap my introduction up! Beyond this post, I will share all of my daily adventures and thoughts on stuff! I look forward to sharing with the world my views on personal finance!
