Heya’ everybody! February was a bit of a spendy month for me because of big expenses every now and then I had to pay, but dang it, I lived! Here is the break down for the month! π
Monthly Bills: $500.00
For rent, water, heating, and all of that kind of stuff. It’s one big flat fee I pay each month to cover everything.
Activities: $30.00
Got a haircut this month. π I try to go one month between hair cuts to cut down costs, so after March, I will be getting another haircut in April.
Medication: $0.00
LOCMom is so nice to pay for my medications that are usually under 5 bucks anyway, but I am thankful. β€
Groceries: $88.21
Aha! Groceries are lower this month! I was a bit more careful with my spending in this category in February and things have paid off. π
Household Expenses: $89.35
Yeeeees, this category is a bit spendy. Had to prepare for the upcoming warmer weather, so some clothing was bought in February. All of the clothing was either from Wal-Mart or Goodwill though, so I count that as a saved cost, but when getting the amount of money I receive each month from Social Security, every little bit counts. There was also a cold snap again and I decided to take advantage of a t-shirt sale Wal-Mart was having on some of their clearance winter shirts, so I bought three shirts for 3 bucks each. And I must say they are quite good looking and cozy. π
Misc. Items: $79.16
This category could have been a lot worse spending wise, but it wasn’t thank goodness. After looking over the numbers, I overspent in the Operation Christmas Child Items Category (OCC items). I just had to get some boxes filled up to complete them, but at lest everything was under a buck and bought with a coupon. Still spent my usual 5 bucks on the OCC Items as well though. But in March, I plan to do better with this.
I also had a pricey package I had to ship to a friend filled with See’s Candy chocolate. Didn’t know it would be so expensive or I would have just bought them something on the store’s website I purchased the items from. You live and learn. π¦
And my Goodwill/Thrift Store spending was not too bad this month! I’m pretty proud of me for being so thrifty money wise when shopping in thrift stores in February. π
Entertainment: $43.98
I’m above the budget amount for this category by nearly 4 bucks. The reason is I wanted to buy a manga book to finish off a series since the a manga series I bought in February ended with an INTOLERABLE cliff hanger. It brought me back to my high school days with that series and I refused to put up with that same cliffhanger again like I did in my school days, so I bought the last book of the series for 5-6 dollars.
But besides that final purchase, this category is still looking pretty good. π
Eating Out: $34.96
Oh my gosh, I am just shocked by this category. O _O;;; It’s amazing to see where some of your money goes when you write it down throughout the month. I have decided because of me sometimes eating out a lot like I did in February, I want to keep this category at least under 35-30 dollars. And it looks like I accomplished that in February, but there is always room for improvement!
Budgeted Items: $68.23
This category is for all of the items I budget for at the beginning of the month using the Envelope System. I especially use this system for paying for my Costco items. It’s a little higher than I would like it to be because I had to buy two extra stamp booklets for greeting cards, but those stamps will all get used eventually.
And the final total comes to…
*drum roll*
Final Total: $933.89
Wow… I didn’t know I had it in me. I spent a lot this month! I kind of like to keep things under $900.00 now that I think about it… Will just have to try again in March, I guess! π¦
