My Thrift Store Treasures! (Version 2.0)

Hey, everybody! Welcome back to my blog series, ‘My Thrift Store Treasures!’ In this blog series, I talk about some of my thrift store finds I am still using to this day that help make my life better! Check it out! 🙂

Turtle Book End

So this cute little bookend I found at Goodwill one day for 6-7 dollars. 🙂 After inspecting it after I bought it, I realized the little guy was in rough shape with chipped paint on some of the turtles on the bookend. Well, after visiting Michael’s and buying some paint for it, I managed to fix the turtles so it looked quite refreshed again! This book end must have been in someone’s storage before being donated and I happily gave it a home. I have been putting off putting more work into it to make it look even newer and sort of-ish pristine, but it definitely looks way better than it did before!

This turtle bookend is currently holding up my manga books on my bookshelf so they do not fall over. 🙂

Banana Hanging Fruit Bowl

So… After seeing one of these at Costco for around 14 bucks and me always eating bananas, this is something I seriously wanted! But alas, 14 bucks is too expensive for one of these fruit bowls, so I opted to wait until I came across one at a thrift store. And sure enough, I did one day! For 4 bucks, I say bringing home this guy was worth it! 🙂 The hook for bananas I am always using and I always like putting my unripened avocados in the bowl part of it so they can ripen overnight. 🙂 It’s also pretty handy for LOCMom as well because she also uses it for her fruit! I got this fruit bowl from the Spendypants Thrift Store, or The Cancer Society Discovery Shop, and I couldn’t be happier with it! 😀

Chef’s Knife

Oh my gosh… This is probably one of the best thrift store buys I have made in a while. As you can see, I bought myself a chef’s knife! It’s not very long, but it’s a perfect weighted blade for my tiny wrists. 🙂 I use it for basically for cutting meats and avocados among other food related things I can’t think of right now. And it was at Goodwill for $2.19 one day and seeing how I like chef knives with their own concealment sheath, I just couldn’t pass this blade up! And it has been worth its weight in gold ever since! 😀

I recently bought a longer Top Chef knife at Goodwill for $3.19, but it was a 6-7 incher and I thought it would be fun to have a longer chef knife around the house for cutting food with. Well, turns out that the blade was too heavy for my wrist so it made it awkward for me to cut things properly. I mean, it worked after being sharpened by mwah, but alas, too heavy. 😦 I think a 4-5 inch blade is my sweet spot for when it comes to chef’s knives I can use. 🙂 I will definitely be on the lookout for more fancy chef’s knives at thrift stores when I see them though! 😀

So that wraps up this Thrift Store Treasures blog post! As you can see, some of my thrift store stuff I buy serves me well and is not just being used for decorative purposes. 🙂 But I still love my decorative thrift store items as well! ❤

What thrift store treasures of yours do you absolutely love?
