What did I do/buy this weekend + What I’ve been up to! (April 7-8, 2018)

Hey everybody! This weekend was a very relaxing weekend, but fun! Come and see what I did this weekend! πŸ™‚

On Saturday, I did about 2 weeks worth of laundry. I tend to let my laundry pile up before washing because in that regard, I am a lazy millennial. πŸ˜› But it all eventually gets washed! Nothing worse than not having clothes to wear, haha. πŸ™‚ I also fixed a bad sewing job on my new red designer pea coat, which I will remind everyone was only $2.50 at a thrift store. πŸ™‚ SCORE! πŸ˜€ Anyway, when sewing the two bottom buttons on tighter, I unknowingly sewn the buttons through the pockets making the pockets unusable. Oops! So this weekend, I got around to cutting the stitching out and fixing the buttons so the thread would not be sewn through the pockets. I must say the pea coat pockets feel good now that I can get my hands into them! πŸ™‚

LOCMom was craving Chinese food, so we also had Chinese food on Saturday! Yummy!

I ordered some pot stickers which were soooooo tasty! Saturday is usually my cheat day where I eat some major junk, but not too much, so this was a nice cheat meal! πŸ™‚

But before I went to bed, I was being a total night owl Saturday night and I did a nail care routine on my fingernails and toenails! I never get them painted or paint them myself, but I like for them to look healthy at least. πŸ™‚ I just never get around to buffing them and I did on Saturday night, so all is well now! πŸ˜€

After that, I went to bed. πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Saturday

Chinese Pot Stickers – $7.95

Total Amount Spent: $7.95

On Sunday, I went to the Sears in our mall which is having a really long closing sale and bought myself a sweater! Which by the way is a size medium, but more on that later. πŸ˜‰

xmas sweater

Yeah I know, it’s a Christmas sweater, but it was only 4 bucks and I needed one that fit me since my other sweaters are quite baggy on me now because of my weight loss. And for 4 dollars, I’m not complaining. I’m just happy to buy something new that will keep me warm for the rest of the rainy days during April. D:

After Sears, I went home and walked outside for my exercise because it was just so beautiful outside today in Northern California! πŸ˜€ It was soooooo worth it! Then after walking, I mainly relaxed and fixed my dinner. I had cooked up some ground turkey on the stove and I was so happy to have warm food in my cold, but yummy salad! πŸ™‚

Money Spent on Sunday

Xmas Sweater – $4.57

Total Amount Spent: $4.57

What I have been up to!

Yeah, this weekend wasn’t too exciting, but I did have fun!

So just recently, I have started a new skin care regimen! I bought some day cream, night cream, and eye cream from TJMAXX and Marshalls for cheap and I have been doing a skin care regimen on my face every day and night! I noticed a difference until I started using my facial scrub in the shower which completely opened up my pores again. Uggggggh. Dx Now I have to start over again and buy some better facial scrub that is softer on my skin. The internet recommended me two cheap cleansers, so I will pursue getting one of those. πŸ™‚ I don’t really wear makeup and go barefaced all of the time, but having smoother skin is something I want to try and do from now on!

Also, I have an announcement to make concerning my diet… I am OFFICIALLY a size medium in shirts! Woooooohoooooooo!!!!! πŸ˜€

medium shirt

See that little ‘M’ on the tag? It’s official! πŸ˜€ When I saw that this medium shirt fit me perfectly in the dressing room, I was over the moon! I just couldn’t believe it… In high school, I remember at one time being a small in t-shirts and I hope to get back there someday. But for now, where I am at is good! However, I am still a size 14 in pants, but hope to be a 12 in the future. It may not look like it in the above picture of me, but I carry all of my weight in the lower part of my body, so that is why I wear a big pant size. However, the top part of my body is pretty small, so I can get away with fitting into smaller shirts. πŸ™‚ I hope to get closer to my dream by joining a local gym in town starting next week and working out again! I usually walk around for exercise outside, but the weather has been rainy on and off, so I can’t really exercise continuously in conditions like that. 😦 Since I magically turned 65, or in other words, have Medicare as my insurance and qualify for their Silver Sneakers program, I will be able to join this local gym for free! So neat and I feel so blessed! ^ o^

And I also have another announcement to make… LOCMom and I have a new pet! Everyone, meet LOCFishy Leon!

leon

Leon is a beta fish that we rescued! As you can see, he lives in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine… and likes it a lot! Leon is a very happy fish that is going to get an aquarium soon instead of the bowl he lives in currently. He will live a much longer life in an aquarium, so I am looking forward to getting him a new home. πŸ™‚

And since one of my awesome readers asked for a picture of the pink pea coat I bought, here it is!

So… Yay or nay? I still have it and plan on donating it to the Veteran’s Home I volunteer at since there are plenty of older lady veterans that would love to where this pea coat to church or to maybe even a party! It kind of looks like an old lady coat, but at the time I looked it over and bought it, I thought it looked good on me. Oh well. πŸ™‚

So that’s what I have been up to! That’s it for this Weekend Update! πŸ˜€

How was your weekend?

  1. Congrats on the weight loss. It’s so nice when you can fit into a smaller size and see the results of your efforts.
Thanks for the pic of the pea coat. It looks nice on you, but you are right, the style seems to be for an older person.
