December 2017 Budget Check-In!

Hey everybody! Time for December’s 2017 Budget review! I think it was kind of pricey since it was during the Christmas season, but I made it work! ๐Ÿ˜€

Here are the numbers for everything!

Monthly Bills: $500.00

This is a fixed amount of what I have to pay each month for all of the bill-ish expenses such as electricity, water, rent, etc.

Activities: $30.00

I only do one nightly activity to get me out of the house and socialize in some way, so this is it! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I must say, it’s usually fun!

Medication: $10.00

I think I met my deductible for my medication for my mental illnesses this month, but had to cough up 10 bucks for hospital medication.

Groceries: $46.30

Yeah, let’s just say I didn’t eat all that well in December because of my health problem. Didn’t feel like cooking any big meals. But now that that is over with, my expenses in this category will probably be going back up in January. ๐Ÿ™‚

Misc. Items: $140.89

This category this month was mixed in with household purchases, thrift store purchases, Christmas purchases, and some health purchases. Goodwill purchases seem to be a bulk category price wise coming in at around 30 bucks, but at least mostly everything was needed. > .> I really need to start organizing the Goodwill category by item instead of just combined purchases to see what I bought each month at Goodwill, so I will see if I can start doing that in January this month. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it will help me a lot… :C

Entertainment: $25.46

I always try to keep this category under 30 bucks each month. This category be pricey, ya’ll! It’s easy to go overboard with this category if I am not careful…

Eating Out: $1.61

Yup, that Costco hotdog TOTALLY killed my budget this month, everyone. ๐Ÿ˜› Haha, as you can probably tell, I am just kidding. I don’t really like going out to eat because restaurant food is so dang expensive for what you get! : ( Will the food be good? Will it suck? And if it doesย suck, you still have to pay for the bad food anyway. I’m just used to cooking at home is all. Can’t spend too much money in this category anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

Budgeted Items: $63.18

This category is all of the items I budgeted for at the beginning of the month and is also included in my envelope system. This month was Christmas presents and Costco food. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s usually just Costco food and 5 bucks for Operation Christmasย Child (OCC) Gifts from Dollar Tree, but Xmas presents were included in December. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I believe that is everything! ๐Ÿ™‚

The grand total is…

*drum roll*ย

Grand Total: $817.44

Woohoo! Not bad for December, but I’m hoping to make a few changes to January’s budget organization wise! ๐Ÿ™‚

How was your December 2017?

What five things I am thankful for this Christmas/Holiday Season (2017 Edition)

Hello, everybody! It’s almost Christmas and even though things in my health life aren’t exactly great, everything else has been! Here I will list five things I am thankful for this Christmas/Holiday season! ๐Ÿ™‚

Money for Presents

Isn’t this is what Christmas is all about instead of only spending time with family and friends and eating lots of yummy food? It’s the presents you get! I am so thankful this year that I was able to afford all of my giftsย to everyone in my family! ๐Ÿ™‚ Everyone is accounted for and not forgotten! I even had the money this year to do fancy photo cards for only $14.99 at Costco! I hope to be able to do photo cards next year as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I had money to get everything I needed for Christmas, plus I could afford a few extra things I needed and a few wants on the side. So I am very thankful that I got my Christmas list done this year for everyone on it!

My Medication

Oh my gosh, everybody. THIS RIGHT HERE is so important! Without my medication, I would probably be in an insane asylum somewhere because I would not be able to control the side affects of my mental illness. Who knows what would happen to me without my medication? : ( So I am thankful this year for my health insurance, Medicare, for taking care of my prescription costs for my meds. I always am. : ) Not meaning to get too much into politics, but I always loved Bernie Sander’s ‘Medicare for All’ idea. I believe everyone deserves Universal Healthcare and not having to worry about if they will be able to afford their own medication(s) for the month or not. Or not having to worry about big hospital bills. Things like that. So I am also thankful for my medication this month! ๐Ÿ™‚

A Warm Bed

Lately, my bed has been extra cozy on these cold winter nights. I am always saying to myself when I am snuggled in my warm bed, “Man, I love my warm bed!” And I do! It’s always so cozy and relaxing to settle down in for the night since I have like four blankets over me, haha. I also use it to read on and play my Nintendo DS on. Haven’t played my 2DS for a while now, but when I do, my bed never lets me down! So I am very thankful for my warm bed! ๐Ÿ™‚

Healthy Food

THIIIIIISSS. I am also VERY THANKFUL to be able to afford healthy food throughout the month. Eating healthy makes me feel good and doesn’t make me feel awful whenever I indulge in too much crappy food. I am also very thankful to be able to afford it since I was dieting a little while ago and it always helps to be able to afford good diet food for your diet. A lot of Americans can’t afford good food in the United States or some people even live in places called “food deserts” where no healthy food exists, so I’m also thankful for our local grocery stores and especially the Frugalpants Grocery Store, Winco, as well. Winco is a discount grocery store that sells cheap groceries that are even lower than Wal-Mart prices sometimes. Aldi and Lidl it ain’t, but it’sย better than nothing. It’s also the most popular grocery store in our town. ๐Ÿ™‚

And do you, my wonderful readers, know who makes all of this stuff for me to be thankful for possible? It is my mother, LOCMom! Without her having a warm house for me to live in or her taking me everywhere where I need to go in her car, I would probably not be very far in life or be living very differently. So I thank her from the bottom of my heart for all that she does for me. โค ๐Ÿ™‚

Annnnd I think that is it for this list! Of course, I am thankful for my iMac, our electricity, having warm water, a house to live in, etc., but I just wanted to do a small list of things I have been thinking about a lot lately. ๐Ÿ™‚

And to all of my wonderful wonderful readers who have always supported me from the very beginning or have just started reading, and also visitors who are reading this blog post right now, I wish all of you a beautiful holiday anda Merry Christmas! Make lots of memories and snarf down some good food! And don’t be too careful around the desserts! They want to be eaten. ๐Ÿ˜› They told me that themselves, so it most be true! ๐Ÿ˜›

What are you thankful for this holiday season?

October 2017 Budget Check-In!

Wow! This month sure was spendy after looking things over and adding everything up! Let’s see how I did this month! ๐Ÿ™‚

Bills: $500.00

For water, rent, air conditioning (soon to be heating), and other misc. bill like stuff here.

Activities: $30.00

My monthly fee for an activity I do each week! Keeps me social. ๐Ÿ™‚

Medication: $0.00

I don’t have any record of medication this month. I must have spent something here, but alas, no record.

Groceries: $143.92

After getting some advice from my weight loss group on Facebook, I have decided to start experimenting with more veggies in my meals. So far, so good! I’m also not buying too much junk, so that always helps with keeping a good diet in general! ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, going the Frugalpantsย Grocery Store for my diet food kept things low for me this month which is always good! ๐Ÿ˜€

Misc. Items: $187.84

Okay, I was a total spendypants on this category this month. A little too many trips to Goodwill to find treasures, plus the buying of Halloween candy in bulk made this category go up. I think I will be better off this month since I have had my Goodwill fix… Aw, who am I kidding? I’ll probably go to Goodwill in November still, but not as much, haha. ๐Ÿ™‚

Entertainment: $28.37

Came just under budget for this category! Which is always a good thing! ๐Ÿ™‚

Eating Out: $17.83

This category always hurts because this money could be used for something else in my budget. But I do not regret that hamburger I had while volunteering. ๐Ÿ™‚ It was 12 bucks and that includes the tip, but it was… so… good! *drools thinking about it*

Unnecessary Expenses: $14.62

Ugggh… The reason why this category is so high was because I bought some ice cream that was awful and had no pizzaz to it. : ( I chucked it out becuase I could not stand it. Booooooo. : (

And the grand total is… *drum roll*ย

Grand Total: $927.96

Yup… I was kind of spendy this month. I will try to reign myself in this month and not be such a spendypants. Hopefully, everything will work out! ๐Ÿ™‚

How was your October 2017?
